10th Year Anniversary show announced with Silverstein, St. Alvia, The Reason, Bombing Neverland, Skittlebrau, Cecilla Rise!!! Plus we have added the winning band from Burlingtons YouthFest Battle of the Bands - Cardboard Fox- a truly upcoming band to keep an eye out for.

It was March 2000, when a group of young punk-rocker, vegan, garage-sale types brought local shows to the Burlington YMCA. Bands needed somewhere to play. Venues were closing, and the ones that managed to stay under the radar weren't far behind.

A scene already going strong and rich in talented bands (read: about a decade already established), an all-ages venue was a given, but the project titled "Throwin' The Horns" was simply that - a project. All shows were voluntarily run by youth for youth, with all proceeds from every show going to support local charities, including the Y's very own Youth Food Bank, and the Strong Kids fund.

Well, here we are, ten years later and we're still going strong. With numerous cycles of bands and kids coming through the doors, (canned food in hand), we're ready to celebrate an accomplishment that many scenes never get to experience.

A place for bands to cut their chops, play for some friends, and eventually move on to become one more of Burlington's hottest exports - the Burlington YMCA invites you to check out a whack of bands that have been long-time supporters, vets and contributors to the rich music scene the Y has been so lucky to be a part of.
